F.B. Meekins Cooperative Preschool

Hi Meekins Families-

Preparations are already underway for the 2010 Meekins Annual Auction. The annual auction is Meekins’ major fundraiser and the goal is to raise in excess of $7,500 for our school. This year’s auction will be held on Saturday, March 20th at the home of Jim Baker and Elaine Chon-Baker. The theme of the evening will be “Back to School”- so get ready to dust off your college sweatshirts and Greek letters. There will be no cover charge for current Meekins Families, and only a nominal fee for friends and extended family members. Open bar, munchies, great 80’s-90’s music, plus the chance to bid on amazing items- it’s a night not to be missed!

The auction committee is busy soliciting donations from the greater Vienna community for our event, but we can use your help. Have a special skill? Last year some of the hottest selling items were homemade items and services donated by Meekins families (meals, baked goods, stationary, hair bows, babysitting services, photography services, etc.). Have a great employer? Consider asking them for a donation. Own a business or have a friend who’s a local business owner? The Meekins auction is a great way to advertise and your contribution is tax deductible.

Soliciting is easy! We’re so confident you’ll have a donation, we’re attaching a donation form. And don’t hesitate to ask for additional forms. Completed forms (you keep the top copy and give the bottom copy as a receipt to the donor) can be dropped off to Michelle Butler (via Emmy M-3) or Jen Herink (via Thomas M-2). We’re also including a letter that introduces Meekins, which can be left with the business for their reference.
